Construction equipment management softwareKnow who has every asset, and what it cost the job.
Appello keeps one record for every lift, truck, tool and harness you own: a QR label on the asset, who has it, which job it's on, its inspections, its maintenance and what it has cost each job. Anyone on site scans the label with a phone camera to open the record. Equipment time is priced from your rate cards and lands on the job's cost codes. It is built for the yard lead and the office at a trade contractor, and it is live today.
From the yard to the job cost report
Equipment in Appello is not a list. It is a record that labels, inspections, maintenance, hours and job costs all attach to.
QR labels
Print a label for any asset, or up to ten at once. A scan opens the record; someone without a login, like a rental yard, sees a view-only page.
Check out, check in
The office checks an asset out to a worker or a job with a note, and checks it back in the same way. The record always shows who has it.
Inspections as forms
Build your pre-use inspection in the form builder. Every form that names the asset lands on its history, with where it was filled in and who signed it.
Maintenance schedules and thresholds
Service schedules per machine, and thresholds by hours, calendar or distance. The person assigned is reminded before service is due, and again if it goes overdue.
Rate cards
Rate labels and schedules with per-asset and per-job overrides. Preview what a rate change will touch before you apply it.
Equipment time on the job
Log equipment hours by job and cost code, then submit and approve them. Approved time is priced from the rate card and shows on the job's financials.
Equipment that moves with the crew
The asset record connects to the rest of the job, so nobody keeps a second list.
- 1On the scheduleAssign the lift to the same schedule as the crew that needs it.
- 2Last known locationThe equipment list shows where each asset was last used, from the forms filled in on it.
- 3Cost by jobA cost summary per asset, broken down by the jobs it worked on.
What Appello doesn't do for equipment
- Live GPS or telematics. Location comes from the last form filled in on the asset, not a tracker on the machine.
- Check-out and check-in from the phone. The office does them in the web app; the phone opens the record, runs inspections and logs time.
- Depreciation and fixed-asset accounting. Those stay in your accounting system.

Questions contractors ask
What does construction equipment management software do?
It keeps one record per asset: what it is, who has it, which job it's on, when it was inspected and when it's due for service. Good software also charges equipment time to the jobs that used it. In Appello, that record is opened by scanning the asset's QR label, and approved equipment time lands on the job's cost codes.
How do the QR codes work?
You print a QR label from the asset's record, one at a time or up to ten in a file. Anyone scans it with their phone's camera. A signed-in worker lands on the full record and can start an inspection or log equipment time. Someone without an Appello login sees a view-only page with the asset's details.
How does equipment cost reach the job?
Rate cards give each asset a rate, with per-job overrides when a job is priced differently. Equipment hours are logged against a job and cost code, then submitted and approved. Approved time is priced from the rate card and appears on the job's financials by cost code, beside labor and material.
Does Appello track equipment by GPS?
No. Appello doesn't connect to GPS trackers or telematics. An asset's location comes from the forms filled in on it: every inspection that names the asset records where it was submitted. The equipment list shows each asset's last known location, and its history lists the date, a map link, the form and who signed it.
