Construction management software · Built in CanadaBuilt for how Canadian contractors actually work.
Appello is construction management software built in London, Ontario for ICI trade contractors — mechanical, insulation, sheet metal and electrical. Crews clock in, fill out forms and see their schedule on the phone. The office gets union pay rates, holdback billing and job costs without re-keying a timesheet. It connects to QuickBooks Online and exports to the Canadian payroll systems contractors already use.
Canadian rules, handled the Canadian way
Software written for US general contractors leaves Canadian trade contractors doing the hard parts in a spreadsheet. These are built in.
Collective agreements
Agreements, trade levels and wage regions set the rate on every timesheet row. Each agreement version carries its own start date.
Travel, board and parking
Zones measured from the union hall, the office or the worker's home. Travel, board and parking land on the day, once.
Holdback
The job's holdback percentage flows onto every progress invoice. Release it later on its own invoice; each release bills everything held since the last one.
GST, HST and PST
Set your tax rates once as tax types, with a default for new invoices. Invoices go to QuickBooks Online with the tax on them.
Canadian payroll systems
Approved hours export to Sage 50 Canada (time-slip import), QuickBooks Online, Dayforce Powerpay, Avantage, Payroll4Construction, QuickBooks Desktop or a plain CSV.
Tickets and safety programs
Track WHMIS, working at heights and every other ticket with an Expiring Soon warning. Build the forms your COR program needs.

Questions Canadian contractors ask
Is Appello Canadian?
Yes. Appello is built in London, Ontario. Canadian holdback, collective agreements, GST/HST and Canadian payroll systems are part of the product, not add-ons for export.
Does Appello replace QuickBooks or Sage?
No. Appello runs the field and the job; your accounting system keeps the books. Invoices and time go to QuickBooks Online, and approved hours export to Sage 50 Canada and other payroll systems.
Is Appello available in French?
No. The Appello web app and mobile app are in English.
Does it work for merit shops as well as union shops?
Yes. Agreements and trade levels are how union rules are set up; a merit shop sets its own rates the same way and skips the union halls.
