For operations managersTomorrow's crews, checked before anyone drives out.
Appello is construction operations management software for the person who decides who goes where tomorrow. Book crews to jobs by day, and each cell turns green, yellow or red against the certifications that job requires. Equipment, material orders, field forms and job progress sit on the same job record. The schedule, the crew in the field and the office all look at the same thing, so fewer calls go around in circles.
What changes for the operations manager
The schedule stops being a whiteboard photo. Everything it depends on is one click away.
Daily schedule by job
Book workers to jobs by day. Booking someone on approved leave prompts you first. Workers see their own schedule in the app.
Certifications on the schedule
Each cell shows green, yellow or red against the job's required tickets. It warns; you still make the call.
Equipment you can find
QR labels open the asset when scanned. Check in and out on the web, with rate cards, equipment time and maintenance reminders.
Material orders on the job
Orders with vendor and expected delivery, ordered versus received per line, committed to the job's cost codes.
Field forms you design
Build your own forms with 14 question types. Required forms show as the crew's daily to-do; recipients get every submission.
Job progress from the field
Foremen enter progress reports on the phone. Earned versus burned shows which cost codes are falling behind.
A week in Appello
The routine, without the phone tag.
- 1MondayBook the week's crews. Red and yellow cells show ticket gaps before anyone drives to site.
- 2TuesdayOrder material for next week's start, with the delivery date on the order.
- 3WednesdayCheck which equipment is due for maintenance. Scan a tag in the yard to open the asset.
- 4ThursdayReview submitted hazard assessments by job, each signed by the crew with their PIN.
- 5FridayRead the foremen's progress reports against budget and plan next week.
What to know before you switch
- There are no push or text notifications when the schedule changes. Workers see the current schedule when they open the app.
- Certification checks warn; they do not stop you booking someone.
- The dispatch board, work orders and inventory are in beta.
- Clock-in and forms need a connection in the current app; there is no offline mode.
Questions operations managers ask
Does Appello stop me scheduling someone without the right ticket?
No. The Daily Schedule colors each cell green, yellow or red against the certifications the job requires, so you see the gap before you book. It warns and never blocks, because sometimes a ticket is being renewed or a supervisor covers the requirement. The decision stays with you, and the record shows what you knew when you made it.
Do crews get a text or push notification when I change the schedule?
No. Appello does not send schedule notifications today. Workers see their own schedule, by day or week, when they open the app, along with job details and directions to the site. For a same-day change, call the foreman as you do now; the app will show the updated schedule the next time anyone opens it.
Can I track equipment across jobs?
Yes. Each asset gets a QR label, and scanning it opens the asset record. Check equipment in and out to jobs on the web, log equipment time against rate cards, and set maintenance schedules with thresholds and reminders. Location can also come from forms filled out in the field, so you know where a lift was last used.
Can I build my own safety and field forms?
Yes. The form builder has 14 question types, including signatures and photos. Make a form required on a job and it appears as a daily to-do on the job card. Crew members sign with their own PIN, and every submission is emailed to the recipients you choose. Required forms do not block clock-in or timesheets.
