Ultra Services, Inc. (USI) was founded in 1992 when owners Darryll Farinha and Francis J. Penney decided to take their years of experience working together and form a company that kept true customer service as its core value. Both Darryll and Frank could see that other HVAC providers did not have a full understanding of customer service and relationships and felt that they knew a better way to take care of their clients. In 2018, USI officially became an employee-owned company through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), demonstrating its commitment to its workforce and long-term sustainability. Ultra Services, Inc. works with and services many of New England's top property management companies as well as many other businesses, from large to small. With a fleet of 45 service vehicles, USI is recognized for its record of on-time response, knowledgeable sales engineers, skilled field representatives, state-of-the-art equipment, and competitive pricing. The company specializes in providing the finest in building comfort services and minimizing downtime in HVAC systems. USI's capabilities span the full spectrum of commercial and industrial HVAC needs. The company manages everything from simple repairs, evaluations, and diverse installations to some of the most demanding design and build systems. USI services and installs HVAC equipment from all manufacturers and provides customized preventative maintenance plans within budget requirements without jeopardizing the level of diligence and care equipment receives. Core services include commercial HVAC service, installation, 24/7 emergency on-call technicians, troubleshooting and diagnosis, chiller services (centrifugal, absorption, and direct expansion), refrigeration, equipment and site surveys, and comprehensive maintenance programs. The company provides installation services ranging from small to large projects, including unit and system installations, conceptual design and build installations, plan and specification projects, project management, estimating, and value engineering. USI has completed notable projects throughout Boston and New England, including pharmaceutical build-outs with Daikin VRV systems and HEPA filtration, large pump replacements for main chiller plants at major lab and office facilities in Boston, medical facility chiller replacements, and cooling tower replacements in Cambridge and Charlestown. USI serves Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine, with a primary focus on the Boston metropolitan area and Greater New England region. Under the leadership of President and CEO Geoff Farinha, who received Building Pathways Boston's "Making a Difference Volunteer Award" in 2023, the company maintains strong community involvement and industry leadership.
